Athenaeum

The Athenaeum is located at 401 East Michigan Street, at the intersection of Michigan St., New Jersey St. and Massachusetts Ave. The Athenaeum houses the YMCA, American Cabaret Theater, and the Rathskellar. Use the theatre entrance for easiest access. We dance in the small auditorium down the hallway from the long staircase.

Directions from the East: ( on I-70 )
Take the Michigan St. exit and proceed west on Michigan St. (it is a one way street) until you reach New Jersey St. The Athenaeum will be on the left.

Directions from the North ( on I-65 )
Take the "New York, Michigan, Fletcher Ave" exit. This will loop to the south. Then take the Michigan St. exit and proceed west on Michigan St. (it is a one way street) until you reach New Jersey St. The Athenaeum will be on the left.

Directions from the South (on I-65/I-70)
Take the Market St. exit and proceed west to College St. Turn right and proceed north to Michigan St., then turn left onto Michigan St. until you reach New Jersey St. The Athenaeum will be on the left.

5640 N. Illinois St. The best way to get the Rivera Club is from Meridian St. by heading west on Kessler, then south on N. Illinois St. Look for the club just before you reach 56th St.

Fountain Square House of Music

Map 1.5 miles southeast of downtown Indy, located at 1101 Hoyt Avenue, on the southeast corner at the intersection of Hoyt & Shelby. This historic building is owned by one of our local dancers, and is currently under construction on its way to becoming a state of the art sound studio. Currently, the building still looks like an old church, with insul-brick siding & a white cross on top of a bell tower. An excellent place to park is along Fletcher Street, in front of the Calvary Church (next to Dairy Queen). The dance is a short 1-block walk from there. You can see the cross-on-the-tower about 80 yards away from the Dairy Queen. Very limited parking is available along the east side of Shelby Street.

Directions from the downtown area:

On the southest side of downtown, at the intersection of Virginia Avenue, East Street, and South Street/Fletcher Avenue, head east on Fletcher Avenue for 0.6 miles. Turn right onto Shelby Street (Dairy Queen on corner). Heading south on Shelby, Hoyt will be the 1st intersection, the House of Music will be on the left (east) side of the street.

Directions from the East (on I-70) or North (on I-65):

Take the Michigan/Ohio/Fletcher St. exit. Take the Fletcher Ave ramp and proceed east on Fletcher Aveue (turn left at light). Turn right at the second stop light onto Shelby Street. Heading south on Shelby, Hoyt will be the 1st intersection, the House of Music will be on the left (east) side of the street.

Directions from the West (on I-70)

Take the McCarty Street exit. Turn right at the light to head east on McCarty. Turn left on Delaware Street to head north. At the first light, turn right on South Street to head east. South Street will turn into Fletcher Avenue. Turn right onto Shelby Street (Dairy Queen on corner). Heading south on Shelby, Hoyt will be the 1st intersection, the House of Music will be on the left (east) side of the street.

Directions from the South (on I-65)

Take the Morris St. exit. Turn right at the light to head east on Morris/Prospect. Turn left at the first stop light onto Shelby Street (to be on Shelby Street, use the narrow one single lane with the fountain your left and the large Fountain Square Theatre & Diner buliding on your right). Head north on Shelby street. Head north on Shelby St for approximately 4 blocks, The House of Music will be on the right (east) side of the street.
